The official test is run forwards then in reverse then totaled . The average is 14 , analysis will record the results , the average benchmark on this test is 8 forward and 6 reverse . The WAIS itself is totaled out of 130 , 130 being the benchmark for genius , the mean score on the WAIS is 100 . On average the digit span comprises 14 % of the total IQ .
